Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) Trainee to join our growing team in Manhattan, New York. This role is ideal for individuals who are interested in building a career in hearing healthcare and learning hands-on clinical and patient care skills.

The trainee will work closely with experienced providers to learn hearing assessments, hearing aid fitting, patient counselling, and hearing aid technology while gaining the experience required for licensure in the state of New York.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed providers with hearing evaluations and patient care.
• Support hearing aid fitting, programming, and adjustments.
• Assist with hearing aid troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repairs.
• Educate patients on hearing aid use, care, and maintenance.
• Support follow-up appointments and patient care coordination.
• Participate in training to develop clinical and hearing aid technology skills.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Students or recent graduates interested in hearing or healthcare are encouraged to apply.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong interest in hearing healthcare and patient care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn hearing aid technology and clinical procedures.
• Customer service mindset with attention to patient needs.
• Basic computer skills.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred.
